April showers bring May flowers, but there’s still plenty of time for bingeing with the mass amount of new releases coming to Netflix Instant this month. There are award-winning films, plenty of big name actors/directors and they have even began to add more James Bond movies after the popularity of Skyfall.

Backdraft (1991) — Starring Kurt Russell, William Baldwin, and Robert De Niro. The story of a Chicago firehouse including two brothers who don’t get along but must work together while a dangerous arsonist is on the loose.
Boys Don’t Cry (1999) — Starring Hilary Swank, Chloe Sevigny, and Peter Sarsgaard. Female born, Teena Brandon adopts his male identity of Brandon Teena and attempts to find himself and love in Nebraska. Hilary Swank won the Oscar for Best Actress for her role in the movie.
Encounters at the End of the World (2007) – Director Werner Herzog travels to the McMurdo Station in Antarctica to discover the absolute beauty of this arctic region and how the people who live get by.
Forrest Gump (1994) — Starring Tom Hanks, Robin Wright, and Sally Field. Forrest Gump may be a just a simple man from Alabama, but his decisions in life have led to one of the most memorable story’s any individual has ever told. Won the Academy Award for Best Picture and currently #14 on IMDb’s Top 250.
Hook (1991) — Starring Robin Williams, Dustin Hoffman, and Julia Roberts. The story of Peter Pain reimagined. Peter has left Neverland and become an adult. But when Captain Hook steals his children from their bedroom Peter must go back to save them. Definitely one of the best movies of the 90s.
Ichi the Killer (2001) — Starring Tadanobu Asano, Nao Ômori, and Shin’ya Tsukamoto. As sadomasochistic yakuza enforcer Kakihara searches for his missing boss he comes across Ichi, a repressed and psychotic killer who may be able to inflict levels of pain that Kakihara has only dreamed of.
Kill Bill Vol. 1 (2003) & Kill Bill Vol. 2 (2004)— Starring Uma Thurman, David Carradine, and Daryl Hannah. Directed by Quentin Tarantino, The Bride wakens from a four-year coma only to realize the child she was carrying has gone missing. Now she is out for vengeance on anyone and everyone from her past, including the team of assassins she was once a part of.
Heavy Metal (1981) — Starring Richard Romanus, John Candy, and Joe Flaherty. A complete mind fuck. This animated film is one of those movies you need to see under the influence, people of Colorado, I’m looking at you.
