New Movies Releases for Netflix Instant [January 2014]

See what’s new in February!!

Happy New Year!  Now that everyone has had their holiday movie fix and sat down next to the fire with Netflix, its time for a new movie selection.  January looks promising with the return of some of my favorites, old classics and MORE DEXTER! Spotlighted below are my recommendations along with the rest of the new releases on Netflix Instant.

New Movies Added January 2014

Dexter: Seasons 5-8 (2006) – The conclusion to everyone’s favorite serial killer.  See how Dexter, Deb and the rest Miami Police Department handle the slew of crime haunting the city.

A Mighty Heart (2007) – Angelina Jolie stars as Mariane Pearl, a pregnant woman who leads the search to find her husband Daniel, a Wall Street Journal reporter who’s been kidnapped while researching a story in Pakistan.

American Psycho (2000) – Christian Bale is Patrick Bateman, an ideal yuppie and serial killer.  He takes pride in his body, business card, music collection and his craft. A great compliment to Dexter.

Big Trouble in Little China (1986) – When a 2,000-year-old magician kidnaps his friend’s fiancée, two-fisted trucker Jack Burton and sexy attorney Gracie Law must navigate a shadowy world filled with supernatural creatures and spectacular action to capture the culprit.

Good Burger (1997) – A spin off of Nickelodeon’s All That skit, Good Burger is about two L.A. teens summer job at the neighborhood burger joint.  Makes your think, what the hell happened to Kel Mitchell from Kenan and Kel and a definite honorable mention to the best kids movies of the 90s.

Raging Bull (1980) – This Oscar winner stars a young Robert De Niro as a self-destructive boxer named Jake LaMotta, a tormented soul who’s unable to control his violent outbursts. Directed by the great Martin Scorsese.

Scrooged (1988) – Bill Murray is at his best as Frank Cross, a TV exec and all around scrooge in this modern day version of A Christmas Carol.

Spaceballs (1987) – A classic Mel Brooks comedy spoofing the Star Wars trilogy starring Bill Pullman, John Candy and Rick Moranis.

The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999) – Charming sociopath Tom Ripley maneuvers into the lush life of Dickie, a young heir vacationing in Italy. Hired to persuade Dickie to return to America, Tom embraces Dickie’s posh lifestyle and takes extreme measures to hold onto it.
